About Setting Up Okta

Okta is a secure way to verify your identity, which protects your patients and you. Okta uses additional security methods to make sure the person logging in with your Username is really you. The additional security methods include entering a Validation Code sent to your phone, clicking a Magic Link in an email from Okta, and using the Okta Verify mobile app.

This guide covers setting up the additional Okta security methods to help you log into iKnowMed and the iKnowMed Mobile app, if you use it, securely.

Okta Migration Step-by-Step

The iKnowMed Log In page

Enter Your iKnowMed Username

After you double-click the shortcut icon or access the iKnowMed URL, the iKnowMed Username page opens.

Enter your Username and click NEXT.

Enter your Password and click LOGIN.

To enter a different Username, click BACK.

Over the next few minutes, we walk you through setting up your account to use Okta to log into iKnowMed and the iKnowMed Mobile app, if you use it.

To set up Okta, enter your work Email Address and click SUBMIT.

  1. Check for an email with the subject iKnowMed Okta Verification Code.

  2. Enter the code in Validation code.

  3. Click SUBMIT.

To get another Validation Code, click RESEND.

  1. Check for an email with the subject Activate Okta Account.

  2. In the email, click Activate Okta Account.

Set Up Security Methods

Okta uses 2 security methods (a.k.a., two-step verification, 2 factor authentication or 2FA, multi-factor authentication or MFA) to keep your account secure.

Click Set up to configure each required security method that is available and each optional security method you want to use. You may see fewer methods depending on what is configured. Each security method is listed below.

Method

Each time you log in...

Username and Password

Okta prompts you to enter your Okta Username and Password.

Email

Okta sends you an email containing a link or a one-time password (OTP). You click the link or use the OTP to sign in.

Phone

Okta sends a verification code to your phone in a text message or calls your phone and tells you the verification code.

Okta Verify

Okta prompts you to confirm you want to sign in using the Okta Verify app installed on your phone. The Okta Verify app also generates a code that you can use to sign in.

After setting up Okta security methods, click Continue.
