

About Managing Access for Non-Employees
As a user manager at a USON practice, you sometimes need to provide iKnowMed access to people outside your practice. These External Workers often visit multiple practices, so their access to iKnowMed necessitates special handling.
Use the Non-Employee Management portal to streamline the setup of each External Worker, which has some key benefits:
The External Worker has a single Person Profile in the Non-Employee Management portal. After their Person Profile is created, iKnowMed access can be granted at any practice.
The External Worker enters their Email address to authenticate using Okta. There is no need to maintain a profile in Okta going forward. The Non-Employee Management portal maintains the Okta profile for you.
Granting iKnowMed access is easy using an Assignment.
Some things to keep in mind:
iKnowMed Permissions are still applied in iKnowMed.
Each person must have a unique Email address.
Changes in the Non-Employee Management portal are effective at the top of each hour.
A User Account for an External Worker does not appear in iKnowMed until the Start Date.
