About Duplicate Charts

Duplicate Charts are two charts for the same patient with different MRN numbers. Duplicate charts are created in a lot of ways.

If it appears that one patient has multiple charts in iKnowMed, double and triple check that the charts are really just for one patient. To resolve duplicate charts means combining the chart data into one chart and making the others Inactive. Taking the extra time to confirm the charts are for one person means not experiencing the dread of the realization that you combined data for two different patients into one chart.

Once a duplicate chart is verified, take some time to figure out why the patient has multiple charts to prevent it from happening again.

Continue scrolling to see the two options for combining or merging the data into one chart.
