Add an Injection Order

Ordering a shot, whether for an immunization or for supportive care, is completed in the Orders > Medications tab.

 You can choose an injection in:

  • Your patient's list of Previously Ordered Medications

  • Your Order Sets

  • Order Search and Search Results

Select the Injection

If the drug to order is listed under Previously Ordered Medications, click it.

Select the drug if it is listed in an Order Set.

Or, enter the drug name in Order Search, and look for it under Search Results.

When you see the drug to order, click it.

Edit an Injection Order

Your order defaults to the most commonly used Dose, Unit, Route, and Frequency, but change these as you need to.

In Associated problems, check each problem to associate the drug with. Your patient's Principal diagnosis is selected by default.

Click OK to add the order to your order cart.

Save the Injection Order

If you are a non-provider, click SAVE to send the order to the On Behalf Of provider to be signed. If you are a provider, click SIGN & SAVE.

View Injection Order on Flowsheet

On the Flowsheet, a saved injection order displays under Medications > In-House.
