View Real-time Prescription Benefits Coverage Details

The Real-Time Prescription Benefits (RTPB) feature enables a clinician to see a patient's real-time pharmacy benefit coverage and display patient-specific drug pricing, copay/out-of-pocket costs, prior authorization requirements, and formulary alternatives at the point of prescribing.

Display of the View RTPB Coverage Details link in the Medication Order editor is controlled by the clinician's capability to ePrescribe in iKnowMed and the Medication Order permission.

To see the View RTPB Coverage Details link in the Medication Order editor, a clinician must be able to ePrescribe in iKnowMed.

Display is also controlled by the Medication Orders permission in the Patient Chart permissions. The table below describes how the None, View, and Full permission settings affect the display of the View RTPB Coverage Details link.

None	Hide the Orders chart tab. Hide the View RTPB Coverage Details link in the Medication Order editor.
View	Show Order History under the Orders chart tab. Hide the View RTPB Coverage Details link in the Medication Order editor.
Full	Show Medications, Order Review, and Drafts under the Orders chart tab. Show the View RTPB Coverage Details link in the Medication Order editor.

To view RTPB Coverage details:

Order a Prescription and enter the prescription details. Dispense Quantity and Dispense Unit are required to enable the link.
Click View RTPB Coverage Details. The RTPB Coverage Details opens in a new browser tab.
After reviewing the details, close the browser tab.
Change the Prescription details as needed.
